The Longleaf Library is YOUR Spot
Library leopards, Leona, Leonardo, and Leontyne love to prowl through the books. Their new leopard friend is named Zsa Zsa, she lives at the circulation desk.
The Longleaf Middle School Library Media Center is located in the middle of the school. It is the spot for everyone. We maintain an open flexible schedule.

We are a FINE-FREE LibraryThe Longleaf Middle School Library Media Center does not charge late book fines. We encourage students to borrow and return books in the set timeframes so that other students may enjoy the same books.
However, we must charge students for lost or destroyed books. We will consider a book to be lost after three months and will proceed to have the replacement cost of the book added to your student fees. If you cannot find a book you borrowed, let us know. We can help look for it in places books love to hide. If you return a book that is mangled, moldy, vandalized, chewed up, foody, or yucky to the point that it cannot be circulated, you will be charged for the cost of the book. Please take care of the books you borrow-they belong to everyone at Longleaf Middle School. |
A Genrified Library
The Leopard Library fiction is arranged by genres. That means that fantasy and science fiction books are shelved together, just as horror and scary books are put together, This makes it easier for students to find books--much like in a retail bookstore. Our library has 12 genres, each with a corresponding colored sticker on each book spine. There are posters and signage around the fiction section to help you find your way. Or just ask!
